The Dutch city of Utrecht has covered the roofs of their bus stops as a gift to the honey bee.
A total of 316 stops have had their roofs covered in sedum plants. This helps the city’s biodiversity and stores rainwater. The entire maintenance process will be environmentally friendly.
Gardeners will drive from stop to stop in electric vehicles. Each of the bus stop has had energy-efficient lights and bamboo installed.
The City of Utrecht hopes to launch additional green initiatives in the next year.
