Why did no one want to adopt this squish?! A viral post on social media has finally given this “big boi” the attention he deserves.
A 2-year-old, 26-pound tabby named BeeJay caught the internet’s attention after Philadelphia’s Morris Animal Refuge shared pictures of the hefty kitty in hopes that it would help him find a forever home.
“OMG, big boi Mr. B is a CHONK. He’s a chonk of a chonk. He redefines the term,” the shelter wrote on their social media page.
The shelter promises that Mr. B is “genuinely big boned,” but with a face as squishy and lovable as his, he may have been fed a few extra kitty treats.
Mr. B’s gargantuan body and generally grumpy expression has earned him a sizable online following. It’s even gotten him some genuine adoption offers.
If for some reason those offers fall through, the Philadelphia Police Department has even offered him a job on the force.
“Um, if he doesn’t get adopted (highly unlikely) he’s welcome to join our K9 Unit as its first Feline (he IS a cat, right?!) member,” the department tweeted.
Fortunately for BeeJay, it looks like he’ll be able to continue his lazy ways as a member of a loving adoptive family.
The shelter said interest in adopting this incredible cat has been “overwhelming” since the post went viral Thursday. The only thing standing between Mr. B and a new home is a clean bill of health from his vet.
