Today in positive news, a Florida man isn’t doing something ridiculous. In fact, he has actually helped thousands of people in the Bahamas. Local news in Jacksonville, Florida is reporting that a local man has purchased 100 generators to help Bahamians suffering from the after effects of Hurricane Dorian.
News4Jax said in an article that Jacksonville resident Alec Sprague saw the large generator purchase. The generous Floridian didn’t want to be named. He did say however that he was buying the generators to help Bahamians recover from Hurricane Dorian.
The man’s generosity impressed Sprague. He noticed that the generators cost nearly $500 a piece. According to Sprague, the Great Floridian also seemed to be purchasing non-perishable food in bulk.
Sprague made a post about the incredible act of kindness on his Facebook page:
“Was just in Cosco off Collins getting a generator (at $450 each) and this guy right here is purchasing over 100 generators and food to send to the Bahamas!” the post said. “All I could do was shake his hand and thank him! There still are good people in the world!”
The post has gone viral.
New4Jax later discovered that the “Errol Thurston Bahamas Hurricane Relief Fund” made the purchase.
Funds like this allow people like you and me to help our brothers and sisters around the world. You may not be able to afford an entire generator yourself and that’s ok! When we all work together, we are stronger. Our money goes farther than we ever could have imagined.
If you’re financially able, consider donating to the fund or another like it.
You can help make the world a friendlier place.
