East Wenatchee Police Chief Rick Johnson had the opportunity to share some exciting news on a national stage this week! He and Blue Bridge Alliance co-founder Brian Spracklen were interviewed on Fox News to talk about the East Wenatchee Police Department’s partnership with the Blue Bridge Alliance, a crowd-source funding program that helps local police departments provide aid and assistance to those in need.
Through the program, officers are given a Blue Bridge Alliance debit card loaded with funds that they can use to help community members in distress, whether it be by providing food, shelter, clothing, fuel, auto repairs, transportation, or any other means of support.
Johnson shared that the community has been incredibly supportive of the program and that it has helped to build positive relationships between the police and the community. He also shared an example of how one officer, Officer Jacobsen, used the funds to purchase art supplies for a student in need and how that helped strengthen their relationship.
The program is also being used by other local police departments such as Moses Lake Police and Wenatchee Police and you can donate to your local police department through Blue Bridge Alliance by visiting bluebridgealliance.org.
